Apple Jacks

Sal has learned about Apple Jacks from Daddy's cereal bowl on the weekend and knows that they are on the cereal shelf in the pantry. Who wants Cheerios when you can have this yummy goodness? We may be bad parents for the video below but it was too funny not to share...

For the record, Sal got to eat Apple Jacks before supper that night.

It's Winter

We are all feeling the brrrr cold these days and Sal is no exception. He really didn't like the first stocking cap I bought him - I'll admit it was a little tight - anyway, this fostered a strong disliking of stocking caps. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, he would cry when Uncle Jeff would put his cap his own head - I guess he felt sorry for the guy!
Here Salvador and Mommy both wore our hats out in the snow to get the mail! I am happy to report he is getting over his hat issues...most likely thanks to his new, more comfortable, hat! Or perhaps he is comforted by his Mom's dorky hat!

Thanksgiving

I think I was too busy cooking turkey to take many Thanksgiving photos, my sister's are very good with their cameras and are nice to share so I'm sure I'll add more pictures soon! We had our whole family together for the Thanksgiving holiday! We had a lot to be thankful for!
A Thanksgiving morning tradition, Daddy and Sal watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with juice and crackers! Sal loved the big balloons!

Cousins

Sal's cousin George came to Kansas City to visit for two weeks, here are few shots of the boys together! It has been a lot of fun and we'll add more pictures when George and his parents get home to Virginia! George loves table food and has been a willing accomplice to Sal's clean plate! Here Sal is trying to get him to eat his peas and chicken!
Dude, it's the bathroom - we could get in a lot of trouble in there - let's go!

I'm sure, it's true...I saw it on Noggin!

No George, I don't think anyone will notice if we go outside without our shoes on!

November Catch Up!

Here is some miscellaneous stuff from November....
There was one more nice day and Salvador was able to convince Grandpa to play with the car on the deck. I cannot count how many times Grandpa helped Sal in and out of the car. He was very sad when it was time to go inside!
Learning to steer....

Sal can move the car around on his own but does it best backwards!

Salvador is finally steady enough for his shopping cart from Aunt Mary and Uncle Paul. We find everything in his cart...from Daddy's socks and kitchen towels to Mommy's spices and all of his toys.
Sal played with the leaves a little in early November, he found them very interesting. He was all dressed in his khakis and polo shirt from going to vote.
Boy, he's really grown into his swing since the beginning of the summer!
I call this Sal's Mark Starr look!

Lion is now a full-time ride on toy rather than a push toy...here is Sal taking him for a spin.

Fifteen Months

Sal had his 15 month check up yesterday and his Doctor is really pleased with how our little man is growing up! He is 27 pounds 4 ounces and is 32 inches tall now. He is working on his verbal skills every day and our parents as teachers educator gave me some tips on figuring out his language. Cracker seems to be the word of the week....mmmmm yummy! Next up will be Jell-O as Grandma has introduced him to this wonderful treat!

HALLOWEEN!

Sal had a busy Halloween week and unfortunately, he was sick on the actual day - he had a fever of 103 that morning so we had to cancel his fun plans with the Starr twins! He got plenty of use out of his costume as you'll see!
There is a helpful smile in every aisle...here is Sal visiting Uncle Paul at Hy-Vee.
Uncle Paul and Sal the Bee.

Sal's friends, Thing 1 and Thing 2 (aka Iris and Nora Starr) trick or treating at Sprint.
Daddy and his sweet little Bee trick or treating at Sprint.

Jamie and Jeanine stopped by for lunch since Sal was sick and couldn't go out...we lured them with hugs and caramel apples...here they are with the little bee.

Grandpa with Sal sitting on the table after dinner...he really does get to do whatever he wants sometimes.
Granny put Sal on the table, I don't remember sitting on our table as a little girl!

Watching tv Halloween night with Uncle Paul and Aunt Mary, nothing scary - just little people.

A little bee delivered cupcakes and charmed the ladies at Granny's work after a meeting on Wednesday.

Our sweet little bee, Mommy tried his costume on the week before and took some pictures for our Halloween card.

Hey, check me out! Why am I dressed like a bee? I have to learn to talk!

Bee one with bee two.

More October Fun

Sal went to Boo at the Zoo with friends, Katherine and Jonathan. It's hard to get three kids to look at the same time and hold the little one on the rock!
Aunt Ronnie came for a visit and stayed with us the weekend before Halloween - Sal was SO excited to have his Auntie here! And Mommy enjoyed shopping with her!

Grandma Rosa's friend, Clara, passed away at the end of October. She was a dear friend to Sal and our family and we'll miss her very much. Clara is Daddy's friend, Javier's, Mom.

October Fun

Salvador enjoyed dinner at the Starr's (Iris and Nora) and really liked the fancy plate, fork and spoon Kristen had for him to use, and Mark's tater tots were great!
We celebrated Grandma's 65th Birthday on October 16th, here I'm watching her blow out her candles with Aunt Mare.
Sal had lunch with Aunt Jeanine and she spoiled him with some fun Halloween treats, they both got quite a chuckle out of them.
Aunt Ronnie, who always sends the best holiday shirts, sent Sal this super fun vampire shirt that actually lights up. You can see below that Sal was figuring it out. We had to take it off for naptime. Thanks Aunt Ronnie!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend, Salvador took us all to the Pumpkin Patch (Daddy drove). Of course, Aunt Mare and Uncle Paul were there and Grandpa came too (Grandma was in Iowa visiting a friend).
What a sweet boy, Aunt Mare took a ton of really great photos, it was hard to pick!
Sal and Mommy are pumpkins, Grandpa is the scarecrow, Daddy is the bat and Uncle Paul is the tree - what fun!
Sal and Grandpa - best buddies.
Aunt Mary, Uncle Paul and Sal - they make everything fun!
Sal enjoyed snacking on cider donuts and fresh apple cider - a little from everyone's cup.

Walking Man (2)

Here is Sal walking, it still cracks me up!

Trip to Omaha

The first weekend in October we made an overnight trip to Omaha to celebrate Marcia's Grandparent's 70th Wedding Anniversary. Sal enjoyed seeing his extended family and enjoyed some extra fun too!Sal eating breakfast like a big boy at the hotel - yes, he even got to watch cartoons - vacation!
Sal and Daddy after a swim.
Sal really digs Great Grandma Ruth's wheels! He soon discovered that the seat lifts up and found her change purse (poker money) and rosary!
Grandma Ruth and Marcia - Grandpa Charlie was up taking a rest. Daddy and Sal at the Henry Doorly Zoo - Sal is consulting the map. While Sal enjoyed his first trip to the zoo, he was sometimes more interested in the other kids than the animals.
Mommy, Sal and a gorilla up close.
Sal and a real bear!
